HISTORICAL TRANSACTIONS

The number of multifamily transactions increased 230 percent from 2001 to 2007 during the era of lax lending practices and cheap capital.

It then dropped over 60 percent in just one year, from 2007 to 2008.

October YTD 2009 vs. 2008 is down 64% in number of transactions while the dollar value of transactions has dropped to 70%.
